Chloe Augusta
A Heritage of Artistry
I have been an artist all my life, born into a lineage of painters, craftsmen, and writers. My earliest memories are tethered to the arts—whether it was painting dots on my parents' canvases or learning the tactile secrets of clay at my grandfather’s side. This deep-rooted history has instilled in me a lifelong belief that art is a fundamental expression of our humanity, providing a necessary lens through which we can understand and find respite from modern life.
Professional Background & Technical Training
My journey as a professional artist and educator is built on over 30 years of practice and a commitment to observational excellence. I have spent decades refining my craft across international borders and prestigious institutions:
Edinburgh Atelier Fine Art (2021): Specialist training in Classical Drawing.
University of Chester: PGCE in Secondary Art.
University of Liverpool: BA (Hons) Fine Art.
El Taller Rufino Tamayo (Oaxaca, Mexico): Advanced studies in Printmaking, Sculpture, and Drawing.
Before establishing Art In Chester in 2016, I spent 10 years teaching in Cheshire schools.. Today, I have stepped away from the constraints of mainstream education to focus on what I value most: treasured traditional skills and the "Imperfectly Perfect" nature of handmade work.
My Artistic Practice: Painting & Drawing
As an artist, I am endlessly fascinated by how the natural world is shaped by time and history. My personal work—often based on the landscapes of Wales and the shifting light of the Dee Estuary—seeks to capture a sense of the "magical" in nature and the notion of the welsh word 'Hiraeth"
