Whats new for September?

Whats new for September?

Well, firstly I have some happy students  who had great fun on my Raku workshops in August. Some pieces survived the fire and I am looking froward to giving them to the students next week.

I have had lots of interest in the classes over the summer and and am looking forward to meeting the new students, old and young. Also, the launch of my new website – I cant wait.

Classes start back on the 4th of September, in the usual location, with the usual times.

Plan for September – grown ups!

*revisit and improve classic themes:

Portraiture (oils or acrylic) , skin tones, accuracy, depth of colour, glazing, inspiration from Vermeer

Landscape – how to use watercolor and gouache as a combination – advanced landscape composition – brush strokes ( looking at Constable )

Still Life – perfect shapes and proportion – inspiration from Cezanne – pastel painting

Figurative Drawing – ‘Quality of Line’  inspiration from Egon Schiele  and Klimt

*Acrylic or Oils – Water  ( how to paint translucency and reflections)

*Acrylic or Oil painting on canvas – The Sea  ( how to create atmosphere )

*Charcoal Drawing – Portraiture – how to create drama

I am still developing the children’s classes and working on designing reward certificates for each level – watch this space!
